The Canola Trek

LATE AUGUST THROUGH TO SEPTEMBER

COOTAMUNDRA LOOP - 109 KILOMETRES - 1 HOUR AND 30 MINUTES DRIVING TIME

HARDEN LOOP - 82 KILOMETRES - 1 HOUR AND 10MINUTES DRIVING TIME

Be mesmerised by the picturesque beauty of the Canola fields in flower. Travelling through some of the best grain growing country in Australia, the vivid yellow of the canola will be forever etched in your memory. These drives will also take you through some stunning country growing a variety of wheat and grazing crops. You may also spot a few of interesting artworks along the way. Although many of the crops are located on private property, there are numerous places to stop along the roadside to capture that perfect photo. Chose to take the loop though Cootamundra, the home of the Cootamundra Wattle Acacia Baileyana and the birthplace of Australia's greatest cricketer Don Bradman. Or head off through Harden-Murrumburrah, home to the first Australian Light Horse Regiment and visit the life size bronze statue of Australia's greatest War horse, a waler called 'Bill the Bastard'. Stop off at Harden's House of Honey and Jackson's Bakery and stock up on some lovely treats before you head back to Jugiong.
